Why AI Pisses Me Off
AI will revolutionize business and marketing, creating seamless integration that will accelerate sustainable business and brand growth. But there are two concerns that piss me off:
๐๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฉ: Resist the urge to dive into AI application without meticulous planning!
๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ฌ: Marketers must be part of AI decision-making because AI touches people and customers and impacts our brands.
Here's the roadmap:
๐ฏ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐. Create a prioritized list of implementations based on value creation, readiness, and fully loaded implementation costs. Choose projects that your organization can successfully implement and that save time, money, and boost quality.
๐ ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐. Set the right success metrics for AI performance. Keep an eye on data accuracy and balance short-term ROI with long-term brand building (NPV).
๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐. Form a cross-functional AI Council to prioritize, educate, and communicate the AI vision. Involve the right disciplines, including marketing.
AI is groundbreaking and unfamiliar, evoking a mix of fear and excitement. To navigate this uncharted territory effectively it is crucial to engage a cross-functional leadership team which includes marketing, establish AI priorities and a learning plan, and develop metrics that strike the right balance between short- and long-term growth. Adopting and communicating a rigorous implementation approach will boost your organizationโs confidence and capabilities, fostering ongoing learning and improvement.
